Wheelersburg Man Indicted on Child Rape Charges
The Scioto County Grand Jury returned an indictment against a 23-year-old Wheelersburg man accused of a heinous crime.
They indicted Travis Risner on two counts of rape and one count of importuning. (Importuning is the legal term for soliciting sex acts from a child under 13.)
The indictment comes from a case we told you about two months ago when Scioto County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report from CPS that a 3-year-old had been sexually assaulted.
The Scioto County SVU, led by Det. Sgt. Jodi Conkel immediately launched an investigation. Investigators learned that a 3-year-old had been assaulted and that there could be another victim, aged just 10.
Officers arrested 23-year-old Travis Tyler Risner and charged him with two counts of rape, and one charge of importuning.
He’s currently held in the jail on a $200,000 bond.
