It’s not just Portsmouth gas stations that seem to be magnets for trouble in Scioto County. Unhappy residents also like taking their problems to businesses in other towns around the county.
A family quarrel erupted into a brawl at the Wheelersburg SpeedeeMart just after 8 p.m.
Initially, officers got a call from a man who said he feared his wife’s brother was coming to their house to cause trouble. When deputies arrived at the home, no one answered the door.
Family members then called the Sheriff’s Office to report they were now at the SpeedeeMart and wanted to meet a deputy there.
A few moments later, an employee of the gas station contacted the Sheriff’s Office to report two people were now fighting.
When deputies arrived they suspected possible alcohol or drug use was involved and requested an ambulance.
The gas station also requested that deputies bar the two combatants from the store. Those involved in the fight refused medical treatment and denied substance abuse.
Regarding the original complaint about the brother coming over to cause trouble, officers requested that she call them if anything happens again.
