You can run, but you can’t hide from the long arm of the law. A suspect learned that lesson the hard way in the wee hours of Thursday morning when officers responded to a report of a suspicious person in the 300 block of Campbell.
Police spotted a man on a bike, and he took off down 5th Street. Police caught up with him at 6th Street and deployed a taser twice to take him into custody.
Officers learned he had an open warrant out of Pike County. They impounded his bike and called for a squad to check the man out. He said he’d reinjured an existing leg wound that wouldn’t heal in the chase.
An ambulance transported him to SOMC for treatment. Officers arrested Joseph Hanshaw for obstructing official business, drug paraphernalia, and failure to appear.
