Scioto County Sheriff’s Office & EMS Call Report for April 8, 2025

As of March 1, 2025, the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) has decided to cease generating the detailed public incident reports that were previously shared with the media. Until a judge forces them to comply with the law, only basic call logs will be provided to the public. The following is a comprehensive summary of all calls received and responded to by the SCSO and area EMS services on April 8, 2025. This report includes the number of calls, types of incidents, locations, and the actions taken by responders. 

Summary of Calls: 

  1. Total Calls: 65
    The SCSO and area EMS services responded to a total of 65 calls throughout the day. 
  1. Types of Calls:
    The incidents varied widely, with several key categories emerging: 
  • Emergency Squad (Signal 29): 17 calls, involving medical emergencies, transports, and non-transports. 
  • Investigations (Signal 09): 7 calls, ranging from thefts to complaints. 
  • Alarm Drops (Code 78): 7 calls, all related to false or triggered alarms. 
  • Traffic Issues: 5 calls, including roadblocks, traffic jams, and offenses. 
  • Other Calls: The remainder of the calls covered a mix of civil processes, complaints, accidents, fire-related incidents, and miscellaneous requests for assistance.  
  • Notable Locations: 
  • Sherman Street/Aldrich Street: On-patrol check (Signal 35). 
  • Walmart Way/Gallia Street: Investigation complaint (Signal 09). 
  • Green Local School District: EMS transport needed (Signal 29). 
  • Dixon Mill Road, West Portsmouth High School: Various incidents including theft and a disabled vehicle. 
  • Star Community Justice Center: Multiple EMS calls for transport. 
  • Various Schools (Northwest Middle School, Lucasville-Minfords Road): Alarm drops and fire-related incidents. 
  1. Key Actions: 
  • Transported to Emergency Department (ED): 14 calls involved EMS transporting individuals to local hospitals. 
  • Warnings: 3 traffic-related calls resulted in warnings. 
  • Reports Taken: 6 reports were generated by the SCSO, primarily for investigations, theft, and other non-urgent matters. 
  • Completed Calls: Several calls were marked as “complete” after officers confirmed that no further action was needed or incidents were resolved on-site. 
  • Calls Cancelled/Handled by Other Jurisdictions: 2 incidents were cancelled, and one was handled by another jurisdiction.

These calls involve the investigation of complaints ranging from theft to suspicious activity.

  • Officers were unable to locate the individuals involved. 
  • Disposition: UTL/GOA (unable to locate/gone on arrival). 
  1. Code 64 – Vandalism (1 Call)

This incident involved reported vandalism, where property damage was suspected. 

  • Location: Highland Bend Road. 
  • Details: 
  • Officers responded to a vandalism complaint. 
  • Disposition: Officers advised the reporting party on how to proceed.

This report reflects the breadth of services provided by the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office and local EMS teams on April 8, 2025. Despite no longer sharing detailed reports with the public, the office continues to respond to a variety of situations with professionalism and efficiency. This log remains the only public-facing document for incidents and actions taken during this period.
