Five-year-old Maverick is one of the happiest little boys you’ll ever meet.
If you met him, you’d probably never guess how much pain he lives with every day. He was born with a severe form of spina bifida called myelomeningocele, and while he can take a few steps when he’s holding onto something, he relies on his wheelchair to get around. He was also born with fluid on the brain and relies on a shunt. The shunt helps drain fluid off his brain to his stomach area. He has scoliosis and sprengels deformity which makes his shoulder blade higher than the other.
Everyday activities that most children take for granted can be difficult and exhausting for him. But Maverick doesn’t let that define who he is.
He wakes up with a smile, fills our home with laughter, and has a heart bigger than we could ever describe. He loves Bluey, loves to laugh, and reminds us every single day what courage really looks like. Even on the hardest days, he keeps smiling.

As his parents, it’s heartbreaking to watch someone so little live with so much pain. We would take it all away if we could. Since we can’t, we want to give him something every child deserves—a chance to forget about hospitals, appointments, and physical challenges for a little while and simply enjoy being five years old.
Thanks to the Sunshine Foundation, Maverick has been given the opportunity to experience the magic of Disney. Now we’re asking for help to make that dream a reality by covering the travel and other expenses that come with the trip. He will also be at Disney on March 17 which is his birthday. Our little Saint Patrick’s Day baby.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps create memories that will stay with our family forever. If you’re unable to donate, sharing Maverick’s story is just as meaningful.
Thank you for taking the time to read about our sweet little boy. Thank you for believing in him, praying for him, and helping us give him a week filled with joy, wonder, and memories that will outshine the pain.
With love and gratitude,
Tabitha and Family
