Adam Joseph Forshey, Sr., age 73, a long-time resident of Wheelersburg, Ohio, and formerly of Jackson, Ohio, passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. Born September 8, 1951, to the late Billy Joe and Marilyn Forshey, Adam was preceded in death by his sister, Wilma Simpson, and by two angel babies who were carried in love and remain forever in their hearts.
Adam was a 1969 graduate of Jackson High School. He graduated from Hocking Technical College with an Associate of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering and a graduate of Ohio University, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and a Master of Business Administration in Management.
Adam worked at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Piketon, Ohio, for 44 years. For the last six years, Adam was employed by Collier Companies, LLC, in Wheelersburg, Ohio. Adam loved his church and his country. He was a proud veteran of the Army National Guard and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Wheelersburg, Ohio.
Adam led a life of unparalleled integrity in his career and his relationship with friends and family. He was a loving and supportive husband, father, and grandfather. He had an amazing sense of humor coupled with a quick wit and a generous spirit. He was a source of endless wisdom and a lifelong learner who was always there for his family and was proud of their every accomplishment. His life was illuminated by his love for his grandchildren, and they brought him joy beyond measure. His faith in God was unwavering and was anchored firmly in God’s promises. Adam instilled this legacy in his children that will live on for generations in his honor.
Adam is survived by the love of his life of 49 years, Cathy (Clinger) Forshey; a sister, Carmen Forshey; a brother, Mark (Pam) Forshey; his four children, Marilyn “Josie” (Matt) Collier, Aimee (Forshey) Ward, Adam (Tina) Forshey, and Megan (Jason) Noble; as well as eleven beloved grandchildren, Jordan (Jordan) Spradlin, Austin, Haleigh, Jonah, and Delaney Collier; Emery, Avett, and Copeland Forshey; Adalyn, Ryker, and Truett Noble; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2025, at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in Wheelersburg with Pastor Bryan White officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Burial Park. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to service on Monday.
In remembrance of his life and love, the family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Faith Baptist Church in support of Adam’s faith and the many outreach organizations he held dear.
