Deputies investigated a report of an assault at Sam’s Club after two men threw down over alleged bad driving.
A man told officers he was driving with his son in the car on County Road 1 when a man in a Ford Truck backed out onto the road, and he had to slam on his brakes to avoid hitting him.
He said he drove around the vehicle, headed to Sam’s Club, and pulled into a parking space. He said the driver of the truck pulled in behind him and blocked him in.
The driver got out and began to scream at him about his driving. When he got out of the car to confront the man, he insulted his weight, threw him to the ground, and punched him in the face several times before leaving.
Witnesses verified the story and took pictures of the truck and the license plate. Officers said the truck was registered to a Columbus, Ohio man.
The victim was treated at St. Mary’s Medical Center for a head injury. Officers took information for a report.
