In loving memory of Austin N. Saunders, 27 years old, born on June 17, 1996, in Portsmouth, OH. Austin’s light dimmed on May 8, 2024, in West Portsmouth, OH, leaving a void in the hearts of all who knew him.
His devotion and compassion as a Resident Supervisor in the Self Reliance Group Home for Kids reflected his unwavering dedication to caring for others. Austin’s warm smile and kind words comforted those he served. His presence brought joy and positivity to every room he entered.
Austin love the desert, snuff, his boots, the gathering of juggalos and anything obscure. He loved fishing, collecting antiques and guns, and making people laugh. He loved his kids and enjoyed leggos, puzzles, and making bracelets.
Austin leaves behind his devoted wife, pride and joy, Halie Saunders, his mother, Theresa Blair, children, Malaylah, Demarius, Jayce, and Anthony, best friend Zachary Adkins, siblings: Stacy, Alex, Nancy, Jodie, Alison, Zach, Chris, Nicole, Aaron, Andrea and Ally, mother and father-in-law, Archie and Mary Ann Swords, and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Their hearts are heavy with grief, yet filled with the beautiful memories of a life lived with love and kindness.
Friends and family are invited to gather together, sharing stories and memories, finding solace in each other as we celebrate the life of Austin on Saturday, May 25, 2024, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, at FC Daehler Mortuary, 915 Ninth Street, Portsmouth, Ohio 45612.
In his final journey, may Austin find peace and eternal rest, surrounded by the love that continues to flow from those whose lives he touched. Though he may be physically gone, his spirit remains a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness, a reminder of the beauty of a life well-lived. Rest in peace, dear Austin, you will forever be remembered and deeply missed.
