Deputies were called to investigate a domestic dispute between two women that got way out of hand.
A woman told officers that the mother of her former boyfriend’s children had come to pick the children up at their home after the pair had decided to separate.
She said the mother of her boyfriend’s children began to kick her while the boyfriend tried to keep the two separated. She said she pushed the woman off the porch and hit her in the face before the woman left.
When officers spoke to the other half of the fight, they noted she had a bloody nose and mouth and bloodstained clothing. She said she was picking up her kids when the girlfriend attacked her for no reason, kicking her in the stomach and knocking her off the porch.
Each woman maintained the other woman was the aggressor, but both agreed they’d had ongoing issues for some time. Lawrence County Deputies decided to arrest the girlfriend for assault.
