The heroic actions of people on the scene saved the life of a man who overdosed at the Rodeway Inn on US 23.
Just before 10 pm, a report of an overdose came into dispatch. Six minutes later, the caller contacted dispatch again to say the man was unresponsive and they were attempting CPR.
EMS personnel arrived on the scene within 10 minutes and were able to get the man breathing again. An ambulance transported him to SOMC for treatment.
Troopers Corral Wayward Cows on US 23
With no cowboys available, Ohio State Troopers had to step in to corral some wayward cows on Route 23.
A call reporting loose cows in the road near US 23 and Lowry Hollow Road came in just after 1:30 am. Dispatch notified the Ohio State Patrol.
Another call came in about 20 minutes later, reporting even more cows on the loose. A Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputy and an Ohio State Trooper managed to locate the cows and contact their owners.
The cows were on their way home by 2:15 am.
