It was a tense stretch for first responders as two separate “full code” medical emergencies unfolded just minutes apart—one inside the booking area of the Scioto County Jail, the other at a Wheelersburg motel.
Medical Emergency Inside the Jail
The first call came from the Scioto County Jail, where jail personnel dialed 911 after an individual went into full code in the booking area.
Officers on scene immediately began CPR, continuing life-saving efforts until EMS arrived. Medics then transported the individual to the hospital for further treatment.
Authorities also notified the person’s next of kin.
Minutes Later: Similar Call at Wheelersburg Motel
Just minutes after the jail incident, dispatch received another urgent call—this time from the Quality Inn.
The initial report described a person unable to stand, but within two minutes, the situation escalated. Motel staff called back to report the individual had gone into full code.
EMS responded and transported the patient to the hospital.
Two Scenes, One Reality
Though unrelated, the back-to-back emergencies underscore how quickly situations can turn critical—and how often law enforcement officers and civilians alike become first responders before medical crews arrive.
In both cases:
- CPR was started quickly
- EMS transported the patients
- Lives depended on rapid response
Officials have not released additional details on the conditions or outcomes of either patient.
SCDN continues to question the Sherrif’s office about the jail incident to learn more information.
For responders, it was another reminder that some of the most intense moments don’t come from crime scenes—but from sudden medical crises where every second counts.
