Officers responded to multiple theft calls around Scioto County and Portsmouth, including a very bad grandson.
His custodial grandparents contacted the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office to say the boy had stolen the family’s holiday money from on top of the fridge. A deputy said the boy laughed when he asked him about it and suggested that the grandparents file unruly charges against him.
If you read the unending string of vehicle break-in reports, you know that it’s a bad idea to leave anything in a car. However, folks aren’t learning that lesson just yet.
Right after 10 am, a Kendall Avenue caller told officers someone broke into her vehicle overnight, ransacked the car, and stole her husband’s medications. She said nothing else appeared missing from the vehicle. Officers gave her a theft of medication form to fill out.
Just before 11 am, Smith Drugs contacted police to report that someone had taken an entire book of lottery tickets. Police took information for a report.
A woman contacted PPD just after 3 pm to report discovering a possibly stolen phone that belonged to a person who had been reported missing.
A 16th Street resident called PPD at 5 pm, to report someone busted the windows out of his car.
