Bad Kids Report Fake Murder
Misbehaving kids stirred up big trouble after they reported a murder early Monday morning. Just after 4:30 am, a caller contacted police saying she’d had several calls from a child saying a man killed her mom and now he was after her.
The woman gave officers the number showing on the caller ID. She said she didn’t know the people, but the child had called multiple times.
When officers called the number, they got no answer at first, but eventually, a child pretending to be an adult answered and hung up on officers.
Officers responded to the scene to have a talk with the kids. It turned out the kids were having friends over and had gotten into shenanigans. The mom confiscated everyone’s phone, and police said they would also be contacting the parents of the slumber party guests in the morning.
Officers gave the kids a talking-to and made sure to let the original caller know it was all just a prank.
The woman was quite upset, saying she’d been crying and praying for the children and hoped police showing up would put a good scare into them.
