On July 11, 2024, Heaven gained the most beautiful soul. Beth Ann Fitch (64), a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, was called home by our most Gracious God. With dignity, grace, and peace while surrounded by her loving family, she gained her precious wings.
Beth was Born on September 9, 1959, to the late Charles David and Shirley Mae (Williams)Hartlage. She was Blessed to grow up alongside not only her siblings but also her best friends. So many wonderful memories were made with Dave(Donna) Hartlage, Vickie (Mike) Glenn, Rick (Brenda) Hartlage, Amy Hartlage Partlow, Debbie ( Marty) McGraw, Jamie Hartlage, and brothers Robbie and Tim, who preceded her in death.
Beth was a 1977 Graduate of Notre Dame High School, a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, worked many years for Dr. Charles Lee & Darren Adams, but most importantly She did not know a stranger.
Beth shared nearly 50 years with the love of her life, Richard (Don)Fitch. Their deep abiding love for each other laid the foundation for the perfect life they built together. Her family was her entire world. She never missed a ballgame, an assembly, or any other opportunity to show her support for her pride and joy. You always knew when you looked at the crowd that Mamaw Beth was going to be there. She instilled her devout Catholic Faith, her kindness, her unconditional love, and even a little bit of her stubbornness into her children and grandchildren.
She leaves behind Brooke (Nate) Dalton, Drew (Mallory) Fitch,Dustin (Megan McHugh) Fitch, and her most precious gifts Karsyn & Aven Dalton and Austin & Levi Fitch.
We will celebrate her life on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth, where a recitation of the Rosary will follow at 7 p.m.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, July 17, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, with Father Peter Gideon officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
To show their gratitude for the amazing staff and care they received, the family requests that Donations be made in Beth’s memory to SOMC Hospice in Lieu of flowers.
