Betty Lou Little Mullins, 91, of Franklin Furnace, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 18, 2025. She died at SOMC Hospice, Portsmouth, Ohio, after a brief battle with esophageal cancer. She was born January 23, 1934, at Melvin, Kentucky, in Floyd County, Kentucky. She was born to John Little and Bessie Lee Johnson Little. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters: Margaret Little Gibson and Margie Little Hogsed and brothers: Billy Eugene Little, John Little, Jr, David Harmon Little and son-in-law James Everett Porter and close friends Esther Hart and Hazel Otworth.
She married Clines Mullins on July 1, 1952, at Melvin, Kentucky, in Floyd County, Kentucky. Her husband preceded her in death November 2, 2012. She leaves behind daughters Rhonda Lou Mullins Hudnall (William) and Cheryl Elizabeth Mullins Porter (2nd spouse Timothy Wade Harper); grandchildren: Jason Brandon Hudnall (Rebecca), Jared Matthew Porter (Melanie), and Courtney Danielle Porter Pemberton (Nicholas); and great grandchildren: Paige Elizabeth Hudnall, William Brayden Hudnall, Kaitlin Nicole Porter Bush (Brayden), Natalee Reese Pemberton, Lane Hutchinson, and Landon Hutchinson; great-great granddaughter (due to arrive around January 23, 2026) and sisters Bobbie Jean Little England and Joyce Little McCoy (Ralph).
She graduated from Wheelwright High School (Floyd County, Kentucky) in 1952. She was a self-employed hairdresser until retirement in Franklin Furnace, Ohio. She was a member of the Franklin Furnace Independent Baptist Church. She dedicated her life to her Lord, church, family, and friends.
Funeral Service will be on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at D.W. Swick Funeral Home (11901 Gallia Pike) in Wheelersburg, Ohio, with Pastor Dennis Hankins officiating. Visitation is from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in Junior Furnace Cemetery, Franklin Furnace, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Franklin Furnace Christian Academy, 100 Seneak Avenue, Franklin Furnace, Ohio, 45629 or SOMC Hospice, 2201 25th Street, Portsmouth, Ohio, 45662.
