Betty Lou Scowden, 85, of Waverly, Ohio passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at Hillview Retirement Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was born October 27, 1939 in Pike County, Ohio to the late Given and Laura Lightle Pollard. In 1959 she was united in marriage to Robert Lee Scowden who preceded her in death on April 8, 2019.
Surviving are her sisters, Lois Pollard of Washington and Edith Dewey of Waverly; sister-in-law, Carolyn (Gene) Remy of Waverly; a nephew, Donald Dewey of Piketon; and many other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Julia McGowan and a sister-in-law, Joyce Leeth.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2024 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
