Betty Ruth Childers, 98, of Lucasville, passed away Monday, September 22, 2025 at SOMC Hospice. She was born April 27, 1927 in Lucasville, a daughter of the late Burt Stanley and Kizzie Ann (Chandler) Lintz. Betty worked at the New Boston Shake Shoppe until she was 85 years old. She was a member of Charity Free Will Baptist Church, formerly Long Run Free Will Baptist Church for 74 years, and was a song leader. Betty was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan.
She is survived by two sons, Gary (Marsha) Childers, Joe (Connie) Childers; three daughters, Sharon (Keith) Rocchi, Linda (Dave) Shonkwiler, Gayla Childers; eleven grandchildren, Patrick Rocchi, Chad (Courtney) Shonkwiler, Tommy (Stephanie) Shonkwiler, Karrie (Dave) Easter, Kellie (Linda) Brown, Danielle (Billy) Reffett, Leslie (Tim) Sowers, Ashley (Michael) Leutze, Morgan Childers; 25 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; one sister, Norma Jean Adams, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gaylen Lee Childers on January 27, 2000; one son, Keith Anthony Childers; four brothers, Albert Lintz, Carl Lintz, Charles Lintz, Lavon Lintz, and six sisters, Herma Adkins, Sally Cantrell, Edna Newell, Charlene White, Juanita Gray, Helen Raike.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor George Vastine officiating. Burial will be at Bennett Cemetery in Minford. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
