A reckless motorcyclist drew the attention of police on Offnere Street just after 1 pm.
An officer spotted a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed in the 1300 block of Offnere Street and watched while the driver popped a wheelie. The officer noted that there was a blonde female passenger on the back of the bike.
When the officer tried to stop the bike, the driver just kept going. Police followed the bike north, towards Center Street but did not give chase due to the reckless speed of the driver.
The officer saw the passenger walk out of the alley shortly afterward. When police spoke to the woman, she claimed not to know the driver. She said she’d just met him at Mound Park and agreed to go for a ride with him.
The officer noted she had some scrapes on her leg from jumping off the bike. PPD called for an ambulance, which treated the woman at the scene. Her Dad came and picked her up.
