1 Bloody ATV Appears in Man’s Garage
A Hackworth Hill Road man had an unusual problem on Thursday morning. Around 9 am, he discovered someone had left an ATV in his garage. He had no idea who it belonged to.
He suspected someone was trying to hide it there since the garage was out of the way. He also noted blood on the ATV and possibly some kind of fur.
A deputy responded to the scene and determined the ATV hadn’t been reported stolen. The man said he’d wait a bit, and if no one came to get it, he’d have it removed.
2 Drug Bust Near Shawnee Boat Club
A welfare check led to a drug bust near the Shawnee Boat Club just after 2 am.
A worried grandpa contacted officers to report receiving a panic notification from his granddaughter’s phone that game a location at the Shawnee Boat Club. The Greenup County Sheriff’s Office also reported a hang-up call from the location.
When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a man and woman under the influence.
Police arrested the woman for possession of drugs. They took the man to the station but later released him to a sober party. Officers arranged to have the vehicle towed.
3 Thief Makes Off With Tip Jar at Silver Palace
A crook with no respect for the service industry took off with a tip jar from the Silver Palace on Gallia Street.
Officers reviewed surveillance video and saw a man in a gray hoodie grab the jar and run out the door. Restaurant owners said the man got into an older SUV and left the area.
Due to the amount of money stolen, restaurant owners didn’t feel it was worth making a report.
Two hours later, a 17th Street caller spotted a man in a gray hoodie run up the hill near 17th and Mabert. The caller thought they heard a gunshot.
Officers investigated but could not locate the man.
