Bryan Richard Meadows, 70, of Portsmouth, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at his home. He was born on December 21, 1952, in Fort Belvoir, VA, a son of the late James Rudolph Meadows and Betty Jane Williams Meadows Riggs.
Bryan retired as a sergeant from the Portsmouth Police Department after 23 years of service. Following retirement, he worked at the Masonic Temple Building. Bryan was a 1971 Portsmouth High School graduate and had served in the U.S. Army Reserves.
He attended the University of Kentucky studying drafting and surveying and then worked for KENCO Associates. He had worked for the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office, attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and was a talented painter who enjoyed fishing.
Surviving are his four children, Brian Scott (Jennifer) Meadows of Westerville, Andy Paul (Melissa Hay) Meadows of Portsmouth, Heather Annette (Joshua) Morris of South Shore, KY, and Rebecca Danielle (Bobby) Cooley of Nashport; three siblings, Robin Rose (Donald) Potters of Stockdale, Eric Dale (Beverly) Meadows of Wheelersburg and Shawna Joann (Michael) Stump of Vincent; eight grandchildren, Hunter, Hope, Clayton, Jaylyn Meadows, Aiden Hinkel, Sydney Meadows, and Corey and Dakota Zimmerman; and one great-granddaughter, Parker Meadows.
In addition to his parents, Bryan was preceded in death by his wife, Karla Gauker Meadows; and his beloved dog, Logan.
There are to be no services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth.
