The Scioto County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), along with EMS and fire crews, responded to a wide array of incidents across the county on Monday, May 12, 2025. While the Sheriff’s Office no longer provides the detailed daily reports it once shared with the public, we remain committed to offering citizens as much information as possible about the work being done to protect and serve our community.
Law Enforcement Activity: Alarms, Assaults, and Assistance
Deputies responded to a variety of calls Monday, including:

These comprised the bulk of EMS calls, with patients transported from several areas, including:
- Minford, Twin Valley, and Rosemount regions.
- Facilities like SOMC Urgent Care, Randall House, and Minford Retirement Center.
- Multiple homes along State Route 335, US Highway 23, and inner-county roads like Dry Run and Elder Avenue.
Traffic Accidents
At least three injury accidents required EMS support, occurring at:
- Duck Run Road/State Route 348

- Rest Area on US 23
Several non-injury accidents were also reported and cleared without the need for medical transport.
Mental Health & Welfare Checks
Crews responded to at least one mental health crisis and assisted law enforcement in making sure those involved were safe and received appropriate help.
A Note on Transparency and Reporting Changes
As of early 2025, the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office has opted to stop producing the detailed daily reports once shared regularly with the press and public. While we understand this limits the amount of information available, we remain committed to keeping our community informed.
We believe transparency and communication are vital to public safety, and we will continue to provide summaries and analysis to help citizens understand local trends, stay aware of activity in their neighborhoods, and recognize the incredible efforts of our first responders.
Acknowledging the Effort Behind the Calls
Whether it was transporting an elderly resident from a retirement center in the early morning hours or responding to a late-night domestic dispute, the day-to-night efforts of Scioto County deputies, EMTs, and fire crews are nothing short of tireless.
To every member of law enforcement and emergency services who answered the call—whether investigating, assisting, or saving lives—thank you for your continued service.
