Scioto County’s first responders had a hectic Thursday on May 29, 2025, tackling everything from medical emergencies and fires to theft reports and false alarms. A total of 46 incidents were logged across the county, showing that even with limited public information, it’s clear our local crews stayed busy around the clock.

Due to a 2025 policy change by the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office, we are no longer provided with the detailed call logs that once allowed us to deliver comprehensive incident breakdowns. 🚑 Emergency Medical Calls Dominate the Day
A whopping 13 calls were made for medical emergencies (Signal 29), ranging from Clay Street in Portsmouth to Colley Road, Tennyson Avenue, and Flatwood-Fallen Timber Road. Most resulted in transports to medical facilities, although some were treated on scene or declined transport.
🔥 Fire & Alarm Calls Heat Up
There were two fire responses:
- A structure fire on Millers Run-Fallen Timber Road
- Another at Hanes Chevrolet on Main Street
Meanwhile, four alarm drops turned out to be either false alarms or unsubstantiated, including incidents at:
- WesBanco in Wheelersburg
- Lang Slocum Ridge Road
- Tenth Street
- Flatwood-Fallen Timber Road
🕵️♂️ Theft & Property Crime
Deputies responded to at least four theft reports, with reports taken at:
- Tatman-Coe Road
- Jordan Days Road
- State Route 772
- Dollar Tree in Wheelersburg
Vandalism was also logged twice, including incidents on Tick Ridge Road and Lawson Street.🚓 Suspicious Activity & Investigations
Several suspicious vehicle calls and general complaint investigations came in from:
- June Street
- Sheldon-Cartro Road
- Twin Valley Road
- 9th Street
- Park Street
- Hickman Road
An attempted burglary in progress on Pershing Avenue prompted a response, though the suspect was gone on arrival.
🚔 Traffic Trouble & Disabled Vehicles
At least four disabled vehicles caused issues, including breakdowns on:
- Taylor Hill & Glades Road
- Woods Ridge Road
- Malone-Cox Road
- US 52 Westbound
Meanwhile, traffic offenses resulted in warnings or citations on:
- Lester Street & 15th Street
- US 52 to River Road
🏠 Domestic Dispute & Civil Matters
Deputies responded to a domestic complaint on State Route 73 and several civil matters, including one on Park Street and a follow-up investigation on Rosemount Road.
