Wednesday, June 25, 2025, was another high-volume day for Scioto County first responders, with 63 incidents ranging from medical emergencies and vehicle accidents to thefts, domestic disputes, and structure fires.
As a reminder, the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office stopped releasing detailed public call logs to Scioto County Daily News in early 2025. While we no longer have access to narrative reports, we remain committed to transparency and continue bringing you everything we’re allowed to report.
🚑 Medical & EMS Calls
More than 20 emergency squad calls went out countywide, ranging from routine medical transports to emergency responses involving jails, nursing homes, and industrial sites:
- Scioto County Jail, Haverhill Coke Plant, South Webster, and Randall House all required emergency medical responses.
- EMS was also dispatched to OH River Rd, Sherborne Rd, Hammerstein Rd, and Skyline Dr, among others.
- Several cases were listed as “not transported,” meaning patients either declined treatment or weren’t in need upon arrival.
🔥 Multiple Fire-Related Incidents
At least four fire runs were logged:
- A blaze on Shady Brook Lane triggered multiple responses.
- Additional fire calls came from Hayport Road, County Garage on St. Rt. 728, and a structure on Gallia Pike.
🚔 Criminal Activity & Police Investigations
Scioto County law enforcement responded to a mix of criminal reports and public safety concerns, including:
🏃♀️ Runaway and Mental Health
- A runaway case was reported from Flo Morgan Rd.
- Officers responded to a mental health crisis on Marne Ave, and a report was filed.
🧨 Threats and Harassment
- Three separate harassment cases were investigated, with locations including 15th St, Furnace Creek Rd, and OH River Rd.
🏡 Burglaries and Thefts
- A burglary was reported on Sherborne Rd, with a report filed.
- Another occurred at Pleasant Valley Apartments on Bihl Ln.
- A theft call came from Dry Run Pond Creek Rd.
🚨 Suspicious Activity and Alarms
Deputies checked on:
- Four suspicious person or vehicle calls, including one near Gallia Pike and one at Dollar General in South Webster.
- False alarms rang out at Canterbury Rd, Burns Hollow Rd, Owensville Rd, and Quality Car and Truck Leasing.
🚗 Traffic Issues & Accidents
- Injury crashes occurred on Poplar Fork Rd and at Shumway Hollow Rd/St. Rt. 335.
- Deputies handed out multiple warnings for traffic offenses, especially around Gallia Pike, River Rd, and Lucasville-Minford Rd.
- Traffic blockages were also reported on Kendra Jo Dr and US Hwy 52.
🐾 Other Incidents
- An animal complaint was logged on Upper Twin Creek–Rocky Fork Rd.
- Officers filed civil process papers on several streets including Hayes St and Slusher Rd.
- Multiple follow-ups and investigative reports were taken at locations like Scioto County Jail and Stanton Ave.
