Police officers responded to a request for a welfare check after a man contacted SOMC with some disturbing claims.
A social worker contacted authorities after receiving a phone call from a man who claimed to be “caked in blood” and was sounding paranoid.
Three officers responded to the man’s residence on Findlay. The man told officers that he was certain that his psychiatrist was intentionally giving him medicines that would hurt him. But that’s not all. He went on to explain that the psychiatrist was in a gang that would jump him in the streets. What’s worse, this gang also included local and statewide government officials.
Police did not note that the man was “caked in blood” and decided that the man was not an immediate threat to themselves or others and left him to continue his day.
The following morning, police were again called to the home. This time, he was reportedly making threats to the staff at his mental health provider. They issued a Pink Slip for him. Officers noted he was “compliant, but very paranoid.”
He was taken to SOMC for evaluation. The mental health provider advised that they would ensure he went back on his medication and hoped to have him regulated again.
