Carl Vernon Stiles, 86, of Wheelersburg, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Concord Health and Rehabilitation in Wheelersburg. He was born October 21, 1935, in South Webster to the late Gilbert Charles and Margery (Crabtree) Stiles. Vernon was a member of the First Church of Christ in Wheelersburg. He was an outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, riding his four-wheeler, picking berries, hunting mushrooms, working in his garden, and selling his produce at the flea market. He also loved to sing and play his guitar.
Vernon is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Ida Stiles of Wheelersburg; two sons, Jeffrey R Stiles of Wheelersburg and Louis K Stiles of Wheelersburg; two daughters, Nancy K Wallingford and husband Johnny of Vanceburg, KY and Crystal Bihl and husband Bill of Wheelersburg; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Montgomery; two brothers, Raymond Stiles and Chuck Stiles; two sisters, Lois Stiles and Helen Conklin.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in South Webster with Pastor Sam Cook officiating. Interment will follow at Scioto Furnace Cemetery.
