Carol Thompson Cooper, 63 of Lucasville, died March 27, 2025 at Riverside Methodist Hospital due to a brain aneurysm. She was born August 25, 1961 in Portsmouth to the late Melvin and Maggie Chandler Thompson.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her brother William “Bub” Thompson, 3 sisters; Teresa Chandler, Cora Chandler, and Kimberly Rakes.
Carol was employed at CAO Head Start where she was a teacher for 34 years. Carol lived for her children and grandchildren. She will be missed by not just her family, but the entire Head Start community.
She is survived by her husband Donald Cooper who she married in May 15, 2004, 2 daughters; Stephanie (Micah Morgan) Thompson, Jessica (Shadd) Miller, 6 grandchildren: Dillon Gambill, Abigail (Luke) Morgan, Billy, PJ, Maggie, and Cooper Miller and 2 great grandchildren, 2 sisters; Joann Thompson and Dianne Lemaster along with several other nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her all dearly.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Reverend Oscar Perry officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park.
