An officer saved an elderly woman with Narcan after a double overdose, but that wasn’t the only drug-related incident that kept officers hopping. Local officers and EMS workers responded to multiple reports of overdoses.
The first call came in just before 1 am after a caller reported a woman had overdosed on Linwood Avenue. EMS responded, but the patient did not require a trip to the hospital.
Around 3 am, a man called 9-1-1 for help with a drug-related incident, and dispatch heard another man screaming someone was trying to kill him in the background.
When officers arrived at the home, they found an elderly woman unresponsive and administered Narcan. The officer said there were two patients in need of ambulances at the scene.
First responders treated both a man and a woman at the scene for overdoses and transported them to SOMC for treatment.
Around 5 pm, a caller reported a black car pulled to the side of the road on US 52 with an unresponsive woman behind the wheel. Multiple callers said the driver did not appear to be breathing.
A deputy administered two doses of Narcan to revive the woman, and medics responded to the scene. However, the woman did not want to go to the hospital.
