Police, EMS Respond After Jail Brawl Injures Officer
Tensions boiled over at the Scioto County Jail just before 8 p.m. when a fight erupted among inmates, sending workers into a scramble for backup. The altercation, which reportedly left a corrections officer injured, prompted an immediate request for police and emergency medical services.
Two ambulances rushed to the scene alongside Portsmouth Police officers, who found the situation largely under control by the time they arrived. Though the fight had been quelled, the injuries to the officer necessitated medical attention, and the officers ensured that everything was secured before stepping back.
