Multiple agencies sprang into action to rescue a child and a dog from a dangerous situation. A witness called 911 to report a man with a broken wrist and ankle was wedged between a bed and table and couldn’t get out. They said the man was soiling himself, and there were needles all over the room.
The caller said there was a child and an animal in the house. Deputies headed to the house and called in the windows but, initially, no one came to the door. Finally, a woman did answer the door.
After looking inside, the officer called for an ambulance and requested CPS and the Dog Warden. CPS took the child into protective custody, and the woman agreed to surrender the animal to the dog warden.
The man refused medical treatment, so EMS assisted him back into bed and left.
