A child roughhousing with a 12-year-old pit bull ended up getting bit on the face.
When offices arrived at the home in South Point, EMS workers told them the child would need a couple of stitches to the forehead.
The boy’s mother said he was playing with some child-sized toy boxing gloves and kept hitting the dog. The dog got irritated and bit the boy. EMS transported the boy to the hospital for treatment. Deputies notified the dog warden about the incident.
Just five minutes later, another deputy responded to another South Point home after a dog bit a jogger in the abdomen.
The woman told offices she was jogging when a dog ran out of a yard and attacked her. EMS transported the woman to the hospital for treatment.
When deputies spoke with the dog’s owner, they said they had an invisible fence, but the dog had somehow gotten out. Officers issued a citation and contacted the dog warden.
