Kids Caught in the Middle After Mom Arrested For Domestic Violence
Some innocent kids were caught in the middle of adult problems after a domestic violence incident Saturday evening.
A man contacted police around 10 pm to report that his girlfriend had hit him in the face. Officers arrested the woman for domestic violence, but that left her son with nowhere to go.
The woman’s mother has custody of the boy; however, he was staying the night with his mom for a visit and had even brought a friend along for the sleepover.
CPS said it was okay for the grandmother to pick up the boys, though there would be a report filed about the incident. Officers transported the boys to the police station to wait for the grandmother to come pick them up.
The woman was booked into the Scioto County Jail.
Officers Investigate Screams In the Night
At 4:41 am, police responded to Mound Street for a report of a woman yelling. When police arrived at the home, the resident refused to answer the door.
A neighbor told police the woman was upset about her boyfriend breaking up with her and was outside yelling for a bit earlier before going back inside. The woman wouldn’t come to the door, and police saw no reason to make entry.
Thirty minutes later, there was another report of a woman yelling on Walnut Street. When police arrived at the home, a woman came out and began to scream and swear at officers. Police said she was yelling nonsensical statements about Mabert Road and the FBI.
The officer advised the troubled woman to stay inside and be quiet but felt officers would likely have to return to the home.
