A CPS worker contacted the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office at 10:30 pm to ask a deputy to accompany her to check on a child.
Officers learned the child’s father was busted for drugs in Kentucky earlier in the evening and that the child’s stepmother also had open warrants from Kentucky. CPS was concerned about the possibility of drugs in the home.
When officers arrived at the house, they had to strike out on foot as the bridge to the house wouldn’t support a vehicle. CPS took custody of the child.
