Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies received a call from Marion County CPS just after 10 pm to report a caseworker was on the way to Scioto County to remove a disabled child from a parent who’d recently tested positive for drugs and had refused to cooperate with the agency.
They said the woman had brought the child to our area to stay at a relative’s house. They requested that a deputy accompany the caseworker to the relative’s home.
Deputies met up with the caseworker, who said they did not have a printed court order, but they agreed to contact the judge by phone. Deputies contacted Scioto County CPS, and Marion law enforcement headed to a judge’s house to have them speak to SCSO on the phone.
Marion County CPS took the child into their custody just after 1 am.
