A father seeking justice walked into the Sheriff’s Office lobby with his two children — and what he told deputies has left authorities reeling.
According to the father, his ex — the children’s mother — allegedly dug her nails into their son‘s arm and then jabbed him in the side with a metal kitchen skewer, leaving visible bruises in both areas. The disturbing incident reportedly happened in Proctorville, Ohio, where the mother resides.
Even more chilling? One of the children backed up the story and told deputies this wasn’t the first time.
“She’s thrown things at me, slapped me, and even head-butted me,” the child said during questioning. The youngster also described verbal abuse, along with the terrifying moment his mother got in his face and assaulted him.
The father had previously filed a report in Milton, West Virginia, but was advised to report it in Lawrence County since that’s where the alleged attack happened.
Deputies immediately contacted Child Protective Services (CPS), who confirmed the case is under active investigation and already on their radar thanks to the earlier West Virginia report.
For now, the case is pending — but officials vow to share findings as they come in.
🚨 WHAT TO DO IF YOU SUSPECT CHILD ABUSE 🚨
If you believe a child is being abused — don’t wait. Here’s how to act:
🔹 Report Immediately: Contact your local child protective services or police department. In Ohio, call 855-OH-CHILD (855-642-4453). You can remain anonymous.
🔹 Document Everything: Write down dates, times, what was said, and what you observed — photos of injuries (if appropriate) can help.
🔹 Listen & Support: Let the child talk. Stay calm. Never promise to keep it a secret.
🔹 Don’t Confront the Abuser Yourself: Leave that to the authorities.
🔹 Follow Up: If you filed a report, follow up with CPS to ensure the case is being investigated.
Child abuse is never just a “family issue.” It’s a crime. If something feels off, speak up — you might be the only voice that child has.
