An 8-year-old child spun out of control after their mother took away an Xbox gaming system. The child had a knife and threatened the mother and also threatened to cut their own throat if the gaming system wasn’t returned.
The mom said she was recovering from an illness and had limited mobility, and there was a younger sibling in the house.
When officers arrived, they discovered a knife stuck into the countertop in the kitchen, and the child said they would cut their throat if they couldn’t have the Xbox back.

Officers transported the mom and the child to SOMC for evaluation.
