Scioto County Children Services workers teamed up with deputies from the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office to assist some children in a sad situation.
Deputies were called in to perform a welfare check on some children living at the Quality Inn with their mother.
Witnesses reported the woman had been “talking out of her head” and panhandling in the area. The children also told hotel staff that she tried to make them take a bath with their clothes on.
Deputies met up with caseworkers from Children Services and responded to the scene. CPS took the children into protective custody.
The mother told deputies she was out of her medication. Officers offered to send for a rescue squad, but she declined.
