A Lawrence County deputy was dispatched to a local juvenile facility to retrieve an incident report after a disturbing allegation surfaced involving a staff member allegedly choking and threatening a resident.
TEEN’S SHOCKING CLAIMS
According to the juvenile, he was in a residence at the facility when he became upset with peers and ran to his bedroom to calm down. A staff member followed him and ordered him to return to the dayroom, but he refused. That’s when things allegedly took a violent turn.
🔹 The teen says a staff member threatened to have other kids “whip my ass” if he didn’t comply.
🔹 He claims another staff member then choked him, threw him off the bed, and put him in a restraint.
🔹 The same staffer allegedly taunted him, calling him “a little bitch” for punching staff.
🔹 The teen says the staffer then bent his arm backward and mocked him, saying, “It still hurts.”
POLICE FREQUENTLY CALLED TO TROUBLED FACILITY
Deputies collected statements from staff and secured incident reports, but this isn’t the first troubling call to the facility, which serves troubled and at-risk children. The case highlights the ongoing foster care crisis in the area, where Scioto County residents have called for a large children’s home to house kids in need. However, incidents like these at Lawrence County’s facility prove that every type of care situation comes with its own challenges.
