A domestic dispute involving accusations, choking, and a baby escalated into a search that ended hours later with an arrest.
According to a report from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a heated domestic call after a woman reported being assaulted by her husband during an argument.
The woman told deputies the argument began after she was accused of infidelity. She said she waited until the baby was put down before picking the child up. During the confrontation that followed, she reported the man placed his forearm across her neck and choked her until she was forced to release the child, who is just over a year old.
She said the man then left the residence with the child before law enforcement arrived.
Deputies attempted to locate the man and advised the woman to call 911 immediately if he returned. Later that day, deputies went back to the residence and made contact with the suspect, who answered the door and identified himself.
The man, identified as Roger Prichard, was taken into custody and transported to the Lawrence County Jail.
