Officers and EMS responded to US 52 near Shawnee Grocery after a report of an injury ATV accident.

When officers arrived, they learned the victim was a mile and a half back in the woods. The victim hit a tree and injured his neck, and fractured his face. EMS requested an air ambulance.
Medics worked to get the victim out of the woods, and the fire department set up a landing zone. After about two hours, they were able to get the victim to the chopper, which transported the man to the hospital.
