Christine Anne Uhl, 66, of Lucasville, Ohio entered the presence of God on November 22, 2024 surrounded by her family at home. Chris was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on November 10, 1958 to the late Bernard and Mary (Simon) Dettwiller. On December 12, 1981 she was united in marriage to Robert Henry Uhl.
Chris was a 1977 graduate of Northwest High School. She and Hank made their home in South Shore, Kentucky where they raised three children before moving to Lucasville, Ohio as empty nesters. She was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker, who truly enjoyed being at home with her family. Chris was known for serving others through her sewing and alteration skills and made beautiful banners for her church, Word Alive Fellowship in Piketon, Ohio. She also served in the prison ministry before her grandchildren were born, and then they became her primary ministry. Above all else, Chris loved Jesus and was a reflection of Him to all who came in contact with her. She will be remembered for her quiet, gentle-spirit and willingness to put others before herself.
Among those who cherish her legacy of faithfulness are her steadfast husband, Hank; their children, Robert Scott Uhl of Otway, Ohio, Charles Joseph (Elaine) Uhl of Englewood, Ohio and Lynnsay Anne (Scott) Struckel of Piketon; their grandchildren, Camden, Samuel, Moriah, Aiden, Hope, Mira, Avery and Ruthie; her siblings, Sherry (Doug) May and Chuck (Jamie) Dettwiller; her extended family and precious church family. She is preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter, Sadie Grace Struckel.
A special thank you from Chris’ family to SOMC Hospice for their excellent care and support, as well as the countless family, church family, friends and neighbors who have reached out with their prayers, love, meals and gifts. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Word Alive Fellowship or SOMC Hospice.
A celebration of life service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Word Alive Fellowship, located at 204 Commercial Blvd., Piketon, Ohio. Arrangements are in the care of Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly, Ohio.
