Coleman Junior “Duke” Copas III, 74 of Minford formerly of Stout died Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at his home. He was born March 5, 1947, in Blue Creek to the late Coleman Edward and Lillian Pearl Evans Copas. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Morgan Copas, a great-grandson, Brice Rothwell, 4 brothers; Donnie, Mike, Pete, and Dig, and 2 sisters; Judy & Mae.
Duke owned and drove a semi-truck, was a carpenter and welder. He enjoyed working on the race car, riding his Harley, fishing, and loved his 4-legged fur-babies.
Duke is survived by his wife, Norma Roe Copas whom he married March 5, 2002, 3 sons; Coleman “Chip” Copas IV, Johnny Montgomery, and Jason Montgomery, 2 daughters; Tammy Tackett and Teresa Copas, 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, a brother, Buck Copas, and 4 sisters; Betty Justice, Carlene “Mouse” Hughes, Charlene “Tark” Chaffin, and Patty Taylor, along with several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at McKendree Cemetery with Jack Howard officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com.
