Things got a little salty between the PPD and the Jail after a prisoner was refused. Here’s what happened.
A caller reported two men near the Young Street Overpass acting as if they were on drugs. The caller said they were urinating in public and throwing things around.
When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a man with an open warrant through the sheriff’s office and took him to the Scioto County Jail.
The man was not in great health. He’d just had an appendectomy and still had drainage tubes in his body. The jail decided to refuse the man and told PPD to take him and leave. The PPD officer said the guy was arrested on their warrant, and it wasn’t his job to take care of him.
The resulting conversations were not put into the logs, but we’re sure they were interesting.
Eventually, the officer took the man to his mother’s house.
