Cops Called On Fighting Couples
Just before 9 pm, police responded to a report of a man and woman fighting on Bertha Avenue. The woman told officers that the male half of the couple continually provoked arguments and that the pair had not gotten physical on that day. Officers contacted a domestic violence shelter which agreed to take the woman.
About an hour later, police responded to High Street for a report of a couple arguing in the home. Officers said both parties were intoxicated, and the male half went to bed while officers were on the scene.
Around 11 pm, the pair began to argue again. Officers returned to the home and suggested the pair just go to bed.
The woman said she planned to leave, but officers explained she was too intoxicated to be on the street. Family members advised officers the woman had pushed the male half of the couple, but the mail denied that.
