Officers ended up in a high-speed chase with a black mystery car after a report of an incident in Minford.
A woman contacted officers at 9 pm to report her sister sent a Facebook message claiming she’d run out of gas at the Minford IGA and people in a silver Hyundai and black Dodge Charger were throwing things at her car.
When officers went to investigate, the woman was nowhere to be found, but there was an empty silver Hyundai. However, the black Charger returned but took off when officers tried to speak to them.
Deputies said the car hit speeds of over 100 miles an hour as it headed down St. Rt. 335, so officers decided to back off. They reported that a temp tag was obscured by a dark license plate cover.
Officers also went searching for the victim but were unable to locate her.
