Scioto County law enforcement is on the hunt for a 20-year-old Wheelersburg man after a fatal shoot in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Just after 1 am, a witness called 9-1-1 to report a shooting at an Aaron Road address in Portsmouth. The caller said the shooter shot a man during a party and fled the scene.
Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman said deputies, detectives, and medics responded to the home. Despite the best efforts of medics, the victim, 20-year-old Nathaniel Mcquinley of Wheelersburg, died at the scene.
Investigators called in the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations and began interviewing witnesses and processing the crime scene.
Investigators are searching for Portsmouth resident Adien Green in connection with the shooting. Officers say Green should be considered armed and dangerous and warn the public not to approach him.
Additionally, the sheriff said several other people at the party fled the scene before officers arrived. Throughman said officers have a list of party guests and encouraged anyone who hasn’t yet spoken to police to call and speak with Detective Sergeant Jodi Conkel at 740-351-1091.
