A woman claiming to be the mom of a police officer pitched a fit when she was stopped for shoplifting at an area Walmart.
Security at the store said they watched a woman, who was accompanied by her mom, skip scanning multiple items and place them underneath bags of food before leaving the store.
The woman’s mother said her son was an officer in Huntington and they were violating their rights because all they should do is write a ticket for shoplifting. Lawrence County Deputies explained that they’d quit writing tickets because people quit showing up for court.
Officers learned the daughter gave several different names and dates of birth before coming clean about who she really was.
Police took the daughter into custody.
