Police picked up a woman making a ruckus in the middle of the night on 17th Street but they did not take her to jail.
Just after midnight, Portsmouth Police investigated a report of a woman in an alley behind a home on 17th Street. Callers said she had a wagon with a dog in it and was screaming at herself in the dark.
When officers arrived on the scene, the upset woman told them she was feuding with people she’d been staying with. She said someone threw a paint can at her but declined to press charges.
The woman told officers she was from out of town and needed a ride to McDonald’s so she could get in touch with someone to come pick her up.
An officer dropped her off at the restaurant and warned her not to become loud and disorderly again.
