Michaela Hupp, the mom who copped a plea in the death of her 11-month-old baby that saw involuntary manslaughter charges reduced to child endangerment and drug possession, will be getting out of jail very soon after 10 months of a 4.75-year sentence.
Though the Ohio Department of Rehabilitations and Corrections lists her parole eligibility date as 2026, Scioto County Common Pleas Court granted her judicial release with 6 months of intensive supervision and five years probation.
Hupp and Robert Fillius were both charged in the death of the baby, which was one of the first cases investigated by the newly formed Scioto County Special Victim’s Unit. The court ordered Hupp to pay $40 a month for a supervision fee and to stay out of bars.
On October 9, the court filed a notice saying that Hupp was 30 days past due paying her court fees.
