Cowboy Harasses Customers at Speedway
At 12:30 pm, officers responded to a report of a man in a white cowboy was harassing customers at the Speedway on Gallia. Callers reported he had an open container of alcohol.
Police caught up with the man at Aldi a few minutes later. Officers determined the man was able to care for himself and didn’t appear to be a risk to public safety.
They advised him to leave the scene and he complied.
Thief Cuts Hole in Garage to Steal Tools
A Linden Avenue resident contacted police when she noticed someone had cut a hole in the back left corner of her garage and stolen several items.
Missing from the home were multiple cordless tools and a toolbox full or ratches and sockets, as well as several light fixtures, and a bicycle.
The woman’s niece told police that someone tipped her off as to who might have taken the items. She went to the home and discovered the missing bicycle. Police took information for a report.
Man Assaulted on Walnut Street
Just after 5 pm, a Walnut Street man contacted police to report a woman hit him in the back of the head and damaged his vehicle.
When officers arrived at the scene, they took both the man and woman into custody. The woman was charged with domestic violence and the man with violating a protection order.
Man Arrested at Kroger After Theft Report
Just after 6 pm, a man contacted officers to report his wallet and cell phone had been stolen at the Kroger on Gay Street.
When police arrived on the scene, they discovered the man had an open warrant from Jackson County.
Portsmouth Officer transported him to the county line and exchanged him with Jackson officers.
