1 CPS Removes Kids From Home After Drug Report
Just after 2 pm, officers responded to a request to meet a CPS worker at the Hilltop Market in order to investigate a complaint at a nearby home. A witness said there were drugs in plain view of the children.
An adult woman at the home refused to cooperate with Children Services.
Three hours later, officers returned to the address to assist CPS in removing the children from the home. CPS implemented a safety plan to place the children with a relative.
2 Garage Break-In on Grandview Avenue
A Grandview Avenue caller contacted Portsmouth Police to report that someone broke into their garage overnight.
The homeowner said the intruder pried a board from the door. However, it did not appear they managed to get away with anything.
A Bloom Street resident contacted police at 2 pm to report multiple items stolen from his car and garage at 2 pm. Police took information for a report.
3 Grand Theft Auto at the Royal Inn
A Michigan man contacted officers at 9:30 am to report that his vehicle had vanished. The man told officers he’d traveled to Portsmouth from Michigan with two other people back on March 24 and they’d all checked into the Royal Inn.
He said he’d given his companions a ride to the Scioto Valley Apartments on March 26 and one of them had asked to borrow his vehicle for an hour.
However, he said the vehicle had not yet been returned to him despite multiple efforts to contact his traveling companions. Officers took information for a report.
